  • Project cancellation within the first 7 days of contract signing, before development begins
  • Failure to deliver agreed-upon milestones due to our inability to meet technical requirements
  • Significant changes in your business requirements that make project completion impractical
  • Communication breakdown that cannot be resolved through our standard support channels
Important Note: Refunds are not available once development work has progressed beyond the initial planning phase and first milestone delivery. This protects both your investment and our team's committed resources.

Each situation gets individual attention. We review requests based on project specifics, timeline, and the work already completed. Our goal is always to find a solution that works for everyone involved.

How the Refund Process Actually Works

We've designed our refund process to be straightforward, though it does require some back-and-forth to make sure we understand your situation properly.

Step 1: Initial Contact (Day 1)
Email us at contact@techtaskportal.com with your refund request. Include your project details, contract number, and reason for the request. We typically respond within 24 hours.
Step 2: Review Period (Days 2-5)
Our team reviews your project status, completed work, and contract terms. We might need additional information or want to discuss alternative solutions.
Step 3: Decision Communication (Day 6)
We'll email you our decision with clear reasoning. If approved, we'll explain the refund amount and next steps. If not approved, we'll suggest other ways to move forward.
Step 4: Processing (Days 7-14)
Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method. Bank transfers typically take 5-7 business days, while credit card refunds can take 7-14 days to appear.

We try to be reasonable throughout this process. Sometimes we can work out a modified project scope or timeline that addresses your concerns without needing a refund at all.

Payment Methods and Processing Times

Refunds go back to whatever payment method you originally used. Here's what to expect for different payment types:

  • Credit Cards: 7-14 business days for the refund to show up on your statement
  • Bank Transfers: 5-7 business days, depending on your bank's processing speed
  • Digital Wallets: 3-5 business days in most cases
  • Cryptocurrency: We handle these case-by-case due to market volatility considerations
Keep in mind that we can only control our end of the process. Your bank or payment provider might add their own processing time on top of ours.

For international payments, currency conversion might affect the final amount you receive. We use the exchange rate from the day we process the refund, not the original payment date.

Partial Refunds and Project Stages

Most refund situations involve partial amounts rather than full project refunds, since we typically complete work in stages. Here's how we calculate what you might receive back:

  • Planning and wireframing stage: 85% refund if cancelled before UI design begins
  • UI/UX design stage: 65% refund if cancelled before development coding starts
  • Development stage: 40% refund if cancelled before testing phase
  • Testing and deployment: 15% refund if cancelled before final delivery

These percentages account for work already completed, resources allocated, and the fact that early-stage work often can't be reused for other projects.

We also factor in any third-party costs we've already incurred on your behalf - things like app store developer accounts, specialized software licenses, or external API subscriptions that were purchased specifically for your project.

Fair Practice: We never charge cancellation fees on top of work completed. The percentages above represent actual refund amounts, not additional deductions.

When Refunds Aren't Available

We want to be upfront about situations where refunds typically aren't possible, so there aren't any surprises later:

  • Projects completed and delivered according to the agreed specifications
  • Changes in your business strategy or budget after development has progressed significantly
  • Requests made more than 30 days after final project delivery
  • Disputes over subjective design preferences that were approved during the review process
  • Third-party service failures beyond our control (app store rejections due to policy changes, etc.)

Even in these situations, we're often willing to discuss alternative solutions. Maybe we can help with modifications, provide additional support, or work out a different arrangement that addresses your concerns.

The key thing is communication. If you're having second thoughts or concerns about your project, reach out to us as early as possible. The sooner we know about issues, the more options we typically have to work something out.
